Sineimage YE0233 COLOR SECTOR TEST CHART 16:9 TE233 REFLECTANCE
Material | HD photographic paper |
The test chart is composed of 3 rows of 8 color patches each and a 4 th row with 4 skin tones.
The color patches include the 3 basic colors red, green and blue and the secondary colors cyan, magenta and yellow. They are arranged together with 3 shades each in between in the following order: red – magenta (purple) – blue – cyan – green – yellow. Since it is possible to depict the 100% saturated color in their standardized brightnesses on a reflectance chart, the saturation is reduced to 70% and at the same time a whitening of 30% is determined. The colors
were calculated down from RGB- signals, which are composed for red of 70% red, 30% green and 30% blue e.g.. The other colors were calculated accordingly. The basic for the calculation are the matrixing and gamma algorithms as determined in Rec.709. The colors of the test chart represent a best possible approximation to these nominal values. The following diagram shows the nominal values (dotted line) and the actual values.
The test chart serves
1. for measuring the color reproduction of HD cameras.
2. for selective color correction. Modern cameras have the possibility to modify colors selectively. There the color circle is divided into several sectors in which the colors can be modified.
3. for making color references shootings for post production.
